About Us

Primarily located in Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, and Palmetto, Yak Shack Watersports is an all-inclusive paddle sports company. Yak Shack originally started in my hometown of Barboursville, WV where I started my love of water and nature in the Boy Scouts.

As a young kid, I was always drawn to the water. After raising three kids and working in the school system, I decided it was time to follow my dreams of showing people my passion for nature on a kayak. I moved to Florida in 2018 where I worked for other kayak companies to learn waterways.

Learning the different tides, and currents were totally different than rivers and lakes. Two years later, Yak Shack Watersports’ new home is the Sunshine state.

YSW isn’t just a kayak company, we pride ourselves on smaller more personal experiences. Our groups are no more than 10-12 per tour and we offer private tours as well.

Although we can’t promise what Mother Nature will show us, we promise to put you in the best possible location for your experience. Here at YSW, we look forward to taking you on an awesome adventure!
