Here are some of the most common questions we receive.

What is your cancellation policy?

Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 7 days notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.

What happens when it rains?

Your Yak Shack guide will be the one that decides if the rain is too much or if we need to delay the tour.

Who are the tour guides and what is their experience?

Yak Shack Owner Todd is the only tour guide and has been kayaking since he was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts.

Are children allowed?

Yak Shack does allow children, and in the past, we have allowed children as young as 2 years old.

How many people are on a tour?

Yak Shack’s mixed groups are no more than 10-12 people. But we offer smaller more personable tours. However, we have the ability to take bigger family groups.

How old do you need to be to rent a kayak?

Minimum kayak rental age is 16 years old.

Can my child ride along in a kayak?

Kids as young as 8 years old can ride on a kayak in our tours!

What happens if I get too tired on the tour?

Our tour guides have the capability to tow your kayak if you are dead tired!

Can I book a private tour?
